Is this a cult?
No. No one rules you here. Exit is a right: anyone may sell and leave in peace. Our rules are few, written down, and open for anyone to check.
Are you "sovereign citizens"?
No. That movement makes pseudo-legal claims to dodge courts and taxes. We don't. Our sovereignty is personal and cryptographic: your keys, your choices, your land. We follow the law and pay what we owe.
You say Bitcoin will replace the state's laws. Do you ignore the law?
No. Better law wins by being chosen, not by force. We follow today's law and out-build it. See the Ethos.
Which founding documents, and why all three?
The Declaration of Independence says why we're free. The Constitution says how government is limited. The Bill of Rights says what it can never take. We read them as their words were first meant. We honor them as beliefs, not as legal arguments.
Why Bitcoin and not dollars?
No one can print it, seize it or censor it. There will only ever be 21 million. You can hold it yourself, with no bank. More at Bitcoindistilled.
Do I have to buy from members?
It's a pledge you keep by your own judgment. When a member's goods are reasonably close in price and quality, buy from the member. What counts as close is your call. No one checks your receipts.
Do I need to buy land?
No. The Weal is free and open to anyone who holds the three tenets. Land comes later, for those who want it.
Is there common land?
No. Each member owns their own parcel outright. What we share is Bitcoin and the charter, not ground. A commons may be discussed later.
Is this an investment?
No. It's a shared belief and, in time, a place to live. Nothing here promises any financial gain. Nothing is for sale on this site.
Where will it be?
In the United States. The state isn't chosen yet. We'll say so here when it is.
Who runs it?
The charter. Every rule binds every member, the founder first. The founder leads until the land is bought, and then those powers end.
Does this site take money?
Never. No payments, no deposits, no wallets. When members trade, they pay each other directly.
What do you do with my information?
Nothing. No trackers, no cookies, nothing sold. This site collects nothing about you.
