The Charter of BitcoinCommonwealth

A common weal of sovereign individuals, on land they own.

The three core tenets

1. Bitcoin is our money. We use it as currency. We hold it as our store of value. No one can print it, seize it or censor it.

2. We honor America's three founding documents, read as their words were first meant.

  • The Declaration of Independence: our rights come from our Creator and our nature, not from government.
  • The Constitution: government has only the powers we gave it.
  • The Bill of Rights: what government can never take.

3. We buy from each other first. When a fellow member's goods are reasonably close in price and quality to an outsider's, we buy from the member. What counts as close is your call.

How we live together

4. You are sovereign. You own yourself, your keys, your land and your choices. What we share, we share by choice. Nothing is taken.

5. Truth, not authority. Our rules are few, written down and open for anyone to check. Our books are open. Every rule binds every member, the founder first. The founder's powers end the day the land is bought. From then on, the founder is one member among equals.

6. Exit is a right. Anyone may sell and leave in peace. Anyone may fork and build their own.

7. We build. We don't break. We follow the law, pay what we owe and win by example, never by force.

8. Your privacy is yours. We ask for the least we need. We never sell what we know.

9. We teach. Every member helps one more person understand.

10. Our wealth is each other. The land is the ground. The people are the commonwealth.

If you hold these, you are already one of us. Welcome.
